Welcome to the BLOG!

Hi guys!

So glad to see you've stopped by!

I'm Jen, mother to a beautiful little girl (joy of my life) and wife to an amazing husband (love of my life)...aside from my incredible family, photography and my camera are always on my mind. When I am out on my way to the store, going for a walk, or a drive I am ALWAYS noticing the beauty around us...awesome lighting, beautiful sunset, textures or my own little girl making a beautiful funny face! I see beauty in all life's details- the details you will most likely forget over time- the little jewels in a bride's boquet, the twinkle in a little boy's eye, or that little tear drop forming in your eye as you walk down the aisle. These little details will mean so much to you 50 years from now.

I look forward to working with you! If you'd like to book a photo session, or have a wedding coming up please do not hesitate to contact me!

This is also where you'll find the most frequent updates. If you've recently had a photo session or wedding, you'll probably find a few "sneak peeks" here...this is what many of my clients look forward to, while they're waiting for their photos.

Details

Photo sessions with me are very relaxed…we just go out and have a good time. I like to capture you naturally, with minimal direction and posing. I may tell you to interact with one another, whisper in your love’s ear, or kiss the cheek or forehead…just to help you with a little direction and “break the ice”. I always tell my clients to try to pretend I’m not there, and to be themselves.

There are two styles of sessions I offer. In your home, or at an outdoor location (a park, downtown, etc). I only use the natural light available, which is beautiful and flattering.

Indoor Session

If we have the session in your home, when I arrive I will most likely take a look around from room to room to find the best possible lighting, and setting. I may also ask to move furniture around a little bit. Indoor sessions are best for maternity, newborn + small family portraits…some beauty portraits may be done indoors  as well.

Outdoor Session

If we have the session outdoors, I will meet you at the location you choose and we will just go for a walk and look for nice lighting, texture and colours. It is reccomended to bring snacks and special toys for the kids to help them feel relaxed.

What to wear?

It is best to wear clothing without patterns and logos, they tend to distract from your pretty face :)

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you would be ok with walking around in, sitting down, and playing in. For sessions with more than one person, try to have everyone wear colours that do not clash and come from the same color-family. You don’t want to be too matchy-matchy and have everyone wearing all white, but you do want everyone to complimentary of eachother…natural tones, browns, whites, creams, blacks, greys…or you could have everyone wearing fun bright colors, it’s up to you! Try to make sure that everyone is either dressed casually or everyone is dressed formal…you don’t want to have that one person dressed for the beach while everyone else is dressed for a formal event. You could bring a couple changes of clothes to create a different look.

It is nice to have the first part of the session in casual attire and the last part a bit more dressy…engagement sessions can be very cute in dress pants and a tie and a cute dress, as well as some shots with some jeans!

It all comes down to wearing whatever you feel your best in!

And remember, HAVE FUN!! :)
