I can’t say enough how much fun engagement sessions are!! I just. love. them. hehe

I had the pleasure of photographing Sara and Mark on Saturday- and the rain held off for us! Sara and Mark are getting married this May- I can’t wait for the wedding! Here are a few from the shoot:

The day has come!! =) Having known Melissa since high school, I know how much she has been looking forward to this day…and I am so very happy for her, for the both of them…they’re engaged and preparing to start the next phase in their lives together! Melissa and Steve chose to do their engagement portraits at Cultus Lake, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather…it was beautiful. They were so much fun to work with =)

Well…technically they’re not engaged anymore!

Suzie and Adam were married New Year’s Eve (details to come in a later post about their beautiful winter wedding..). Suzie contacted me not too long before Christmas about her New Year’s Eve wedding, so we had their engagement session the Monday before it. They are such a cute couple, and just so in love. I had So. Much. Fun. getting to know them and photographing their love for one another.

I am so excited for this wedding! I found out that I was going to be shooting it about a week before Christmas- and their big day is tomorrow, New Year’s Eve! How exciting is that?! I am so happy I was available We did their engagement shoot on Monday- here’s a couple teaser shots from that shoot to celebrate their upcoming vows! Congrats guys, can’t wait for tomorrow!

Believe it or not, these were taken before our snowfall today- Chilliwack Lake Road was quite a frosty winter wonderland on Monday.

The first time I met up with Danielle I thought she was such a genuine person, and so down to earth. I am so excited that she chose me to photograph her wedding! Danielle, apparently chose me out of quite a few photographers she had been researching on the web, so I feel quite honored- thank you again, Danielle! I had such a good time walking around with them, getting to know them, and finding cool locations for their engagement portraits. The location we were at had a couple run down houses, and it actually reminded me of those x-box games where you’re walking around some abandoned, run-down ghost-town (you know, those ones where you’re a soldier or something with your guns? haha- I don’t play x-box, so I don’t know all of the lingo- but you get the idea!) I really loved this location! It had such a romantic feel to it.
Their fabulous big day is taking place next June in Agassiz, with the reception being held at Minter Gardens- I can not wait, guys, I wish you nothing but the best for your future together!

I thought this was such a cute idea for their reception…

Ok- so my idea for this one was inspired sort of by Marry Poppins (I guess?) hehe-Something different!

An engagement session isn’t just to get that one shot to place in the newspaper to announce the upcoming ceremony…it is a great way to CELEBRATE the proposal and engagement and have some fun with your wife or husband to be! The engagement session is also a great way for the couple to get to know the photographer, and vice versa; a nice “break the ice” activity. I get to know the couple a bit better, see what their style is, and they get to know me a bit better and get more comfortable, this way they know exactly what to expect from me on their big day. I also get to know a couples’ comfort level and their personalities.
So, this is why I include an engagement session in all of my wedding packages, I highly recommend them, not only for some photos for your reception, but also to make yourself more at ease in front of the camera.
Last weekend I shot an engagement session on the beach at Harrison Hot Springs, and ended it at the Train Museum in Agassiz. It was beautiful out- an hour or two before sunset-goldon lighting…I loved it!
Can not wait for the wedding, guys!

C + K are getting married!! | Chilliwack Engagement and Wedding Photography

This was a great shoot. We started the session in downtown Chilliwack. K proposed to C under the clock tower so we thought it was a must to start the session downtown and of course get one under the clock!! We also included their awesome dog, Charlie for some family photos
